How to send a Fyrebox quiz to your Zoom attendees

This guide walks you through connecting Fyrebox to Zoom, attaching a quiz to a meeting or webinar, and reviewing the responses after your session ends. The full setup takes about five minutes.

0Before you start

There are a few things you'll want in place before connecting Fyrebox to Zoom. Make sure you have:

  • A Fyrebox account with at least one quiz built and ready to send. If you don't have one yet, you can sign up for free and use any of our templates.
  • A Zoom account on the Pro plan or higher. Zoom doesn't expose the attendee list to Basic (free) accounts, so post-meeting quiz delivery only works for Pro, Business, or Enterprise.
  • At least one upcoming meeting or webinar scheduled in your Zoom account — that's how Fyrebox will know which session to attach the quiz to.
Heads-up: If your Zoom account is Basic (free), Fyrebox will connect successfully but you'll see a warning in the quiz editor — the post-meeting quiz email simply won't be sent because Zoom blocks the attendee fetch on free accounts. Upgrading your Zoom plan unlocks the feature immediately, no reconnection required.

1Open the Integrations panel in Fyrebox

Sign in to Fyrebox and go to Account → Integrations. You'll see a list of third-party services Fyrebox connects to. Find the Zoom tile and click "Connect Zoom". This opens the secure Zoom authorization window in a new tab.

2Authorize Fyrebox in Zoom

Zoom will ask you to confirm that you want to grant Fyrebox access to your account. Review the requested permissions, sign in with your Zoom credentials if you aren't already, and click "Allow". You'll be redirected back to Fyrebox and the integration will be marked as connected. You only have to do this once.

What Fyrebox asks for, and why

  • user:read:user —to detect your Zoom plan tier (Basic / Pro / Business) so the editor can warn you if your account can't use the feature.
  • meeting:read:list_upcoming_meetings —help_zoom_scope_meeting_list
  • meeting:read:list_past_participants —help_zoom_scope_meeting_participants
  • webinar:read:list_webinars —help_zoom_scope_webinar_list
  • webinar:read:list_past_participants —help_zoom_scope_webinar_participants

3Attach a quiz to a meeting or webinar

Open the quiz you want to send to your Zoom attendees and click the Integrations tab in the quiz editor. You'll see your connected Zoom account and a list of your upcoming meetings and webinars. Tick the box next to any meeting to attach this quiz to it. You can also tick "Send after every meeting" to apply the quiz across all your future Zoom meetings in one click.

Tip: Zoom only returns attendee email addresses for meetings that have registration enabled. If your meeting is open-join, attendees join anonymously from Zoom's perspective and Fyrebox has nothing to email. Enable registration in your Zoom meeting settings before the session to make sure everyone gets the quiz.

4Host your meeting as usual

There's nothing extra to do during the session itself. Run your Zoom meeting or webinar normally. The instant Zoom marks the meeting as ended, it notifies Fyrebox, Fyrebox retrieves the attendee list from Zoom, and an email goes out to every registered participant with a link to take your quiz. The whole follow-up usually completes within a minute of the call wrapping up.

5Review the results

Open your quiz in Fyrebox and click the Results tab. You'll see every attendee who completed the quiz, their score, their answers, and how long they took. Use this data to spot training gaps, qualify webinar leads, or measure satisfaction — whatever the quiz was designed to do. Results are available in real time as participants complete the quiz.

Troubleshooting

If the quiz email didn't go out the way you expected, the issue is almost always one of the following:

  • No emails were sent after the meeting ended.
This usually means either the meeting didn't have registration enabled (so Zoom has no attendee emails to share), or your Zoom account is on the Basic plan (which blocks the attendee fetch). Open the quiz editor to see the warning, or check your Zoom plan at zoom.us/account.
  • Some attendees got the quiz but others didn't.
Zoom only includes registered participants in the attendee list. Anyone who joined the meeting without going through registration won't appear, so Fyrebox has no way to email them. The host (you) is also intentionally skipped — you don't need the quiz you created in your own inbox.
  • The Zoom section in my quiz editor is empty.
You may have disconnected the integration, or your Zoom token expired. Go to Account → Integrations and reconnect Zoom. The connection then refreshes itself automatically going forward.
  • I don't see my webinars listed.
Webinars are a paid add-on in Zoom and only show up if your account has the Webinars license. If you only have regular meetings, that's fine — the meeting list is what most users actually use.
  • I'm still stuck — what now?
Send us a message from the support page with the name of your Zoom meeting and roughly when it ended. We'll check the integration logs on our side and get back to you within one business day.

How to disconnect or uninstall

You can disconnect the integration in two places — Fyrebox and the Zoom App Marketplace. Either one breaks the link; we recommend doing both if you want a complete cleanup.

Disconnect inside Fyrebox

Go to Account → Integrations, find the Zoom tile, and click "Disconnect". This deletes your Zoom access tokens from Fyrebox's database immediately. Any quizzes that were attached to Zoom meetings stay in your account — only the trigger is removed.

Uninstall from the Zoom App Marketplace

Go to marketplace.zoom.us → Manage → Installed Apps, find Fyrebox in the list, and click "Uninstall". Zoom will send Fyrebox a deauthorization signal, and we'll delete your tokens and remove the integration on our side automatically. This is the recommended route if you want a clean uninstall.

Privacy and data handling

Fyrebox only reads what it needs to deliver the quiz and surfaces the rest back to you. Here's exactly what we touch:

What Fyrebox reads from Zoom

  • Your list of upcoming meetings and webinars, so you can pick which ones trigger a quiz.
  • The attendee list after a meeting ends — names, email addresses, and join/leave timestamps — to know who to email the quiz to.
  • Your Zoom user profile (name, email, plan type) so the editor can warn you if your account can't use the post-meeting feature.

What Fyrebox stores

  • Your Zoom OAuth tokens (so the integration keeps working between sessions). Tokens are stored encrypted at rest.
  • A log of which quiz was sent to which attendee after which meeting — so we can dedupe retries and let you see who completed the quiz. We do NOT store attendee data beyond what's strictly needed for the integration to work.

What Fyrebox NEVER accesses

  • Meeting recordings, transcripts, or any video/audio content.
  • In-meeting chat messages or shared files.
  • Any other meetings, webinars, or contacts beyond the host who connected the integration.
